Navigating the Nara Organics Recall: What Parents Need to Know About Baby Formula Safety

As a postpartum doula supporting families across Los Angeles, one of my priorities is helping parents stay informed about newborn safety updates and product recalls.

Recently, Nara Organics recalled all lots of Nara Infant Formula due to the potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination. Infant botulism is a rare but potentially fatal illness that occurs when spores are ingested, producing dangerous neurotoxins in a baby's immature gut.

🚨 Affected Products to Stop Using Immediately

If you have these in your pantry, stop feeding them to your baby right away:

Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula (700g)

 UPC: 860013251901

Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula (400g)

 UPC: 860013251918

🔍 Warning Signs to Watch For

Symptoms can take days to weeks to show up. If your child has consumed this formula, monitor them closely for:

Constipation (often the very first sign)

Poor feeding (weak sucking or trouble swallowing)

Ptosis (drooping eyelids) or sluggish pupils

Low muscle tone (feeling "floppy" or having generalized weakness)

 Weak or altered cry

Respiratory difficulty (trouble breathing, which can lead to respiratory arrest)

What to do: If your baby is showing any of these signs, contact your pediatrician or seek emergency medical care immediately.
